NEWS PRODUCER JOB OPENING
HCAM is the community access television
station for Hopkinton, MA. This active, growing station is
adding a newscast to its lineup, and the full-time position of
News
Producer will be an integral part of this program.
The position of News Producer is to
coordinate and produce local Hopkinton news to be shown on a
½ hour news show on the HCAM channel and integrated with
HCAM’s website. News
to be covered includes local hard news (politics, government
etc), soft news (features, special interest) and public
service announcements;
Responsibilities:
- Producing
– Production of a ½ hour news show three times per
week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). All aspects of studio
production are required: directing, camera operator,
audio, graphics.
- ENG
– Responsible for on-location news gathering to support
studio newscast.
- Editing
– Edit raw footage for newscast.
- Governmental
Meetings – Cover local governmental meetings and
edit sections for newscasts as necessary.
- Reporting
– Write copy for newscasts, local stories and
meeting articles for web presence.
- Other
– Other duties as assigned.
The News Producer will coordinate and
interface with the volunteer crew of HCAM, and be responsible
for all technical aspects of the newscast. Hours will change
according to the schedule of coverage. The News Producer will
work closely with the News Editor to determine how the station
resources will be utilized.
