Hopkinton Health Department (Status Update) - NEW INFO
Last week (11/15/21 to 11/19/21) the MDPH reported 29 new cases to the Department. The Department last managed this number of weekly cases in the Spring of 2021. Many of the cases were associated with a cluster of unvaccinated youth. Asymptomatic youth from the cluster attended large gatherings, further exacerbating the situation. The Department has observed spread in most of the households. New cases not associated with the large clusters have been in vaccinated adults that are no longer working remotely. The Department reminds residents to avoid large gatherings, carry a face covering at all times, utilize it when in doubt, test when you are ill and stay home when you are ill. Our two-week percent positivity had dropped to 1.68. However, we expect it to exceed 2.00 by Thanksgiving Day.

Covid Prevention & Treatment
Many of the things you do to help prevent colds and the flu can help protect you against other respiratory viruses, including COVID-19:
Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

Clean things that are frequently touched (like doorknobs and countertops) with household cleaning spray or wipes.
Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze. Use a tissue or your inner elbow, not your hands.
Stay home if you are sick and avoid close contact with others.
Utilize a face covering when warranted.
