The Hopkinton Health Department has partnered with the MetroWest Health Foundation and is seeking parents of students and adults in the community to take the below survey regarding vaping.
Hopkinton Health Director, Shaun McAuliffe stated the results will help develop educational and resource tools for the community. "Based on the survey results, we will develop and provide the residents of Hopkinton educational and resource tools. Similar programming is being developed and targeted to the Middle and High School students, the teachers and school administrators."
"The MetroWest Health Foundation and a number of community, school and public health departments are working to decrease youth vaping in the region. We need your input to better understand the best way to reach families and to offer the most relevant information. It will make a difference in how we address youth vaping in our communities. The survey should take no more than 5 minutes. Thank you!
As of 2016, 28% of MetroWest high school students and 6% of middle school students had tried vaping at some point in their lives and over 50% of high school students do not believe it is harmful. However, we know the nicotine in vaping products is addictive and extremely harmful."
