Middle School Soccer Scores 2 Wins

The Hopkinton Middle School Boys' soccer team scored five first half goals earning their third victory against Wellesley to start the season. Everyone played well. The goal scorers were Scott Babigian (2 goals), Ben Fargiano, Brian Gaughan, Matt Austin, and Max Mauro. The boys play home on Thursday on Field 5 at 4:00PM versus Weston Middle School.
The Middle School Girls’ soccer team beat Wellesley 3-0 in another offense game. The first goal was created from a shot by Taylor Velazquez that hit the post with Camryn D’Aloia following in to pop it in the net. The next goal started with Jade Poovakad clearing the ball out of our defensive end to Taylor Velazquez who took a long run up the field and put it in. The girls’ third goal was a penalty kick put in by Emma LaCasia. Besides the scoring during the game, goalie Katie Walters had a tremendous save in goal during the second half to ensure Wellesley was shut out. The win was accomplished with true team work from the entire team. The girls play a second Wellesley team this Thursday at 5pm.
At the High School, the Varsity Boys beat Nipmuc 2-0.
