TOWN OF HOPKINTON seeks FT ASSISTANT TOWN CLERK – The FT Assistant Town Clerk, under the general direction and supervision of the Town Clerk is responsible for the routine and complex administrative, technical support, and functions of the combined office of Town Clerk, Board of Registrars, and Elections. The Assistant Town Clerk assists with the oversight of the daily operations of this tri-functional office and its related responsibilities.

Hopkinton is 1 of 54 Towns Participating in Commonwealth Connect App

Secretary of Administration and Finance Glen Shor today joined officials from the City of Boston and local officials from participating municipalities to formally launch the Commonwealth Connect app used by 54 cities and towns across the Commonwealth.

The smart phone application is based on the Citizens Connect app developed for use by the City of Boston and allows residents to report quality of life problems, such as graffiti and potholes, in real time directly to their local government for resolution.

HCA’s Summer Classes to Include New Performances & Dance Classes

Registration is currently underway for the Hopkinton Center for the Arts summer classes, which will include some new dance classes, a two-week Comedy Production Workshop for grades fourth through ninth, a three-week Summer Theater Workshop for grades fourth through eighth, as well as the regular offerings of acting, musical theater, and voice classes for age groups ranging from pre-kindergarten up to adulthood. All classes will take place at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts farmhouse, 98 Hayden Rowe Street, Hopkinton.

Casino Free Milford Rebuts Foxwoods Presentation

On Monday, June 17, Casino-Free Milford Co-Chairmen John Seaver and Steve Trettel presented a rebuttal document to the Milford Board of Selectmen that evaluates the information presented by Foxwoods executives on June 3 regarding their proposal to build a destination resort casino in Milford.

Elementary School Building Committee Meeting: Possible Sites and Land Use

Following a unanimous Town Meeting vote to fund a Center School feasibility study, Hopkinton’s Elementary School Building Committee (ESBC) met recently to discuss next steps. At the May 22 and June 5 meetings, ESBC members expressed a desire to use time over the Summer to develop foundational knowledge that may be helpful once the formal Feasibility Study is initiated, as well as plan community engagement activities.

State Launches New User-Friendly Website

The Patrick Administration today launched “Informed Massachusetts” – a user-friendly website that consolidates the Open Government and Transparency web pages previously found on Mass.gov. Informed Massachusetts pulls together these sites into a unified portal, creating a user-friendly site through which citizens can quickly and easily find information.

"Run Boston Strong"

In the aftermath of the Boston Marathon tragedy, Hopkinton singer and songwriter Amanda Maffei knew she had to do something to help out. And at the recommendation of a friend, she decided to write "Run Boston Strong" as a way to honor those affected by the bombing by sending out a message of resiliency.

The song was recorded in the studio of Hopkinton musician Barbara Kessler and several other residents lent their production, instrumental, and vocal talents to the track. The group hopes that the song will reach a wider audience where all those affected by the bombing can listen to the song's message.

Main Street Closure Eastbound - School Buses May Run Late

From the Hopkinton Public Schools: The closure of Main Street eastbound began this morning, Monday, June 17. Main Street eastbound will be closed from Pleasant Street to Grove Street from 7:30 - 4:00 until further notice. All eastbound traffic will be detoured onto Pleasant Street. Police details will be directing traffic along the detour. Main Street westbound will remain open.

The Hopkinton Police Department is issuing a public service advisory regarding a popular phone extortion scam that continues to victimize members of this community. In these cases generally an unknown person(s) will call or text the victim and make claims that a family member is under arrest or being held captive and needs money to be sent for their release. The caller may know basic information about the family member. If you are contacted by a party alleging they have a family member in custody it may help to:
