On behalf of the Select Board, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that our cherished, ever-happy Police Chief Edward Lee, has submitted and the Town has accepted his resignation effective April 3, 2020 - exactly 6 years after he joined the Town.
During those years, Chief Lee has been part of the Town's senior leadership and has led the Hopkinton Police Department with distinction - consistently achieving Hopkinton the "safest community" top 5 rankings in the Commonwealth and the USA. Under his guidance, the department expanded its force to address community growth, obtained certification (a step closer to full accreditation), completed its strategic plan, re-instituted the K-9 program and expanded the SRO program.
We wish him well and the best in his future endeavors.
