Remembering 9/11
The ringing of the library's church bell served as a somber reminder to those in the downtown area of the 11th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. For the past 10 years, the library has observed the tragedy by ringing the bell. For most of the 10 years, former library trustee Jack Palitsch has had the honor of bell-ringer. Each year, he rings the bell at 8:46 the time that flight 11 crashed into the North Tower, and then again at 9:03, the time that flight 175 crashed into the South Tower.
