As part of the Hopkinton 300th Anniversary Celebration Committee lifelong resident and retired Hopkinton Firefighter Bill Hamilton dished out ice-cream then shared a lesson of yesteryear with a full house at the Hopkinton Senior Center. Various historical Hopkinton pictures and items were on display. Bill shared facts about Hopkinton throughout the last "couple hundred years" and told tales of growing up in Hopkinton and how the town has changed throughout time; "I tried to mix in a lot of anecdotes that I remember from people that were much younger, it's good to express these so they don't get lost."
Hamilton mentioned to HCAM news the schools have drastically changed throughout his years as a resident; "it's pretty interesting that when my Mother was in 1st grade they built the Center School, when I was in 4th grade they built the first addition onto the Center School." He also mentioned he attended Hopkinton High School when it was on Main Street his freshmen year and then was transferred to the new High School on Hayden Rowe, which is currently the Middle School. Bill mentioned there were 42 in his graduating class and his granddaughter who graduated 2 years ago had 247 people in her class; "the town is definitely growing, I don't know if it's all for the better or not but it is growing."
