New Hopkinton DPW Director, Kerry Reed talks with Sidhi Dhanda in 2nd episode of "Out on the Town"

HCAM Intern-Reporter, Sidhi Dhanda is working with the HCAM team this summer and producing a show called "Out on the Town". The show focuses on helping the community getting to know their local town government officials and the folks who make Hopkinton the great community it is.

In the latest episode, Sidhi catches up with new Hopkinton DPW Director, Kerry Reed. In the episode you'll learn about Kerry's path to becoming the DPW Director as well as some of her personal interests and very-fascinating background.

HOP Youth Coalition hosting a Youth Leadership, Advocacy, and Resiliency training at the Town Hall

On Tuesday August 8th and Thursday, August 10th, the HOP Youth Coalition will be hosting a Youth Leadership, Advocacy, and Resiliency training at the Town Hall. This event is free and dinner will be provided both nights.

At their meeting on July 11th, the Select Board confirmed 3 of Town Manager, Norman Khumalo's recommendations; promotion of Danielle Cook, the selected candidate for Reference and Technology Supervisor at the Library, appointment of Kerry Reed as the Director of Public Works and appointment of Julia Chun as the Sustainability, Economic Development and Equity Project Manager.

One of Sidhi’s tasks will be producing a new HCAM original show “out on the town” where she will catch up with some of the great town employees and allow you to get to know about them a bit more. In the first episode of out on the town, Sidhi caught up with Water-Sewer Manager Eric Carty.

*UPDATE #3* Hopkinton Police and Fire Report Body of Missing Swimmer Recovered in Lake Maspenock

Interim Fire Chief Gary Daugherty and Police Chief Joseph Bennett regret to report that, following a coordinated search involving multiple public-safety agencies, the body of a 21-year-old man was recovered in Lake Maspenock on Saturday morning.

On Friday, July 21, a 911 caller reported that a swimmer, subsequently identified as WILINSON J. ORBEQUITO, age 21, of HOPKINTON, had not returned from a swim at Sandy Beach.
