You know Spring is officially here when the HCA's annual Arts in Bloom exhibition is on display! Now in its 18th year, this is a competitive juried art show that is a favorite for artists far and wide.

The 2023 juror for this year's show is Kaveh Mojtabai, founder and publisher of Artscope magazine.

Artscope magazine is in its 15th year of publication. It covers artists, galleries and museums, encouraging its readers to understand the work exhibited and to actively participate in the region’s arts community.

The theme for 2023 Arts in Bloom is "Thrive". Mojtabai noted, "We are constantly in transactions with beauty. Let's thrive in every language and interpretation of Art in Bloom."

This year's call for art saw a total of 80 artists from over 48 New England towns, submitting a grand total of 200 pieces of artwork for consideration. Out of those 200 works of art, Mojtabai selected 44 entries for this year's Arts in Bloom.

The exhibition will be available to view April 24-June 1st. There will be a free public reception to meet the artists on Friday May 12th at 6 p.m.

Six pieces will be identified for an award and honored with fresh garden arrangements designed by the Hopkinton Garden Club members starting May 12th. The garden club artists look forward to interpreting the pieces with complementary arrangements that employs the use of flowers, plants and other natural materials.

Entry to view the exhibition is always free. The HCA is pleased to offer private and group docent tours upon request. For more details, call 508-435-9222.
