Hopkinton Fire Department Responds to Car Fire Along Interstate 495

Chief Gary Daugherty reports that the Hopkinton Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash and fire on Interstate 495 on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, July 16, at about 12:50 p.m., the Hopkinton Fire Department responded to a crash along Interstate 495 northbound near mile marker 56. Upon arrival, first responders observed that the vehicle had struck a tree in the wooded area along the highway and was on fire.

Firefighters extinguished the car fire with water and environmentally safe foam.

The sole occupant of the car was transported to an area hospital by Hopkinton Fire EMS.

The scene was cleared at approximately 3 p.m.
