Hopkinton Hillers sports teams go 5 for 5 on Wednesday September 25!

Wednesday, September 25th was quite an amazing day and historic day for Hopkinton Hillers Fall sports as all five Hiller teams competing during the day captured wins! Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Field Hockey, Girls Volleyball and Golf all added a win to their 2024-25 standings.

-Hopkinton Hillers Field Hockey defeats Bellingham 3 to 2!

Hiller Field Hockey hosted Bellingham on the turf fields and took a 3-2 win after a hard fought back and forth cross-TVL battle. In the game, Bellingham led 1-0 heading into the 2nd quarter until Mary Finnegan tied things up at 1 with a goal at 12:28 left to go in the half. The game remained tied at 1 heading into the 3rd quarter until Bellingham retook the lead (2-1) with a goal from Bellingham Senior Captain, Alyssa Forget at 12:58 left to go in the quarter. Hopkinton quickly retied the game 88 seconds later at 11:30 left to go in the 3rd as Tenley Winn found the net following a rebound off a penalty corner to make it a 2-2 game. A little less than 5 minutes after that, Elena Valis found Abby Burke in-front of the net and fed a perfect pass that Burke capped off with the perfect shot to make it a 3-2 Hiller lead at 6:41 left to go in the 3rd quarter. Despite some late game pressure from a resilient Bellingham team, the 4th quarter remained scoreless and Hopkinton held on for the 3-2 win. Hiller Field Hockey is on a 4-game point steak with 3 wins, 0 losses and a tie in their last 4 games! Hopkinton now has 4 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie on the season. Hiller Field Hockey is next scheduled to host a very good Medfield team next Wednesday (10/2) at 5pm. Bellingham next hosts Holliston on Monday (9/30) at 4:45pm.

-Hopkinton Hillers Girls Volleyball take tiebreaking set 5, 15-5 for 3 to 2 match victory!

Both Hopkinton and Bellingham were riding high coming into Wednesday night. The Hillers entered the game on a 4-game winning streak with a record of 7 and 3 while Bellingham entered the night with a perfect 8 and 0 record, both teams would battle hard to continue their impressive streaks. The Hillers took the first set 25-17, Bellingham took the second set 25-18, the Hillers responded with a 25-19 win in the third set. In the fourth set, Bellingham trailed 22-19 but would go on a 7-2 run and take the set 26-24 to send the match to a 15-point fifth set. Thanks to some stellar service points, the Hillers got off to a 5-0 start and that would prove to be too much to overcome for Bellingham as the Hillers took the set 15 to 5 and captured the 3-2 match win. The Hillers improve to 8 and 3 with the victory while Bellingham falls to 8 and 1. Hopkinton next heads to Algonquin HS for a matchup with the Titans on Friday (Sept 27th) at 5:15pm. Bellingham hosts Holliston on Friday at 6pm.

-Hopkinton Hillers Golf defeats Medway at Hopkinton CC 252-267

Earlier that afternoon at Hopkinton Country Club, Hiller Golf captured their 3rd straight win in a row as they outshot Medway 252-267. Hopkinton improved to 7 and 2 on the season. Medway falls to 6 and 7. Hiller Golf next heads to Dover-Sherborn for a 4pm tee-time.

-Hopkinton Hillers Boys Cross Country defeats Dedham 17 to 46!
The Hiller Boys improve to 2 and 0 on the season and will host Ashland next Tuesday (10/1) at Hopkinton State park for a 3:45pm meet.

-Hopkinton Hillers Girls Cross Country defeats Dedham 15 to 48!

The Hopkinton girls' cross country team beat Dedham, 15-48 on Wednesday at Hopkinton State Park. Hopkinton senior Elyse Srodawa won the race, securing her second win in as many weeks. Senior Bridgid Cavanaugh, junior Meaghan Burdulis, senior Avery Sawyer, and junior Chloe Tumbleton took the remaining scoring spots in second through fifth to clinch the sweep for the Hillers. Senior Josie Hopkins and sophomore Jillian Toran placed seventh and eighth. senior Katie Leccese, freshman Keemia Ravoz, and sophomore Wafiya Syeda provided strong back up in 10th, 11th, and 12th. Madelyn Blaney led Dedham in sixth place. (A big thanks to Head Coach, Jean Cann for sending along the update)
