As the great poet and writer Audre Lorde once wrote, “It is not our differences that divide us, it is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.” It is in that very spirit the idea of celebrating PRIDE in Hopkinton was sparked and started in 2021 by Freya Proudman and Madison Loos, former Hopkinton High School graduates.
The Hopkinton Freedom Team is committed to fostering love, inclusion, and trust for all people. Our community has seen important progress in its collective work to realize social justice. However, there is still great work to do when it comes to moving beyond tolerance to a place where we truly embrace our community’s diversity with compassion, understanding and respect.
To this end, the Hopkinton Freedom Team is once again planning and preparing for Hopkinton’s 3rd annual PRIDE Parade and Celebration, along with this year’s co-sponsors Hopkinton Youth & Family Services and the Hopkinton Center for the Arts.
This year’s PRIDE event will take place on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA). The event kicks off with a short parade at 1:00 p.m. starting at the HCA and going through neighboring streets. After the parade, the fun and celebration will continue at the HCA with family-friendly performances, food, and activities for all.
All members of the community are welcome. Let’s show that Hopkinton and surrounding communities are safe and welcoming for all members of our LGBTQIA+ community! Please come and support this vibrant community as we promote and spread Love, Inclusion and Trust. For information on how to participate and support this event, please visit
