Coffee House - Carols and their Stories
Thursday, December 12 (6:30—7:30 PM)
Betty Strong Room (Large Event Room)Hopkinton Public Library 13 Main Street, Hopkinton, MA, 01748
“Carols and Their Stories” features HCA Harmony performing traditional carols in a beautiful blend of four-part harmony. Woven throughout the musical performance, stories of the traditional carols will be read by the ensemble's members. Some of these stories may be surprising, and certainly entertaining!
HCA Harmony is Hopkinton Center for the Arts’ twelve-voice singing ensemble. They meet at the Center every week to rehearse a mostly a cappella-based repertoire ranging from madrigals, to Bach chorales, barbershop quartet styles, jazz standards, contemporary songs and of course, seasonal carols.
HCA Harmony’s Director, Sharon Broadley-Martin, is an accomplished composer, arranger, and vocalist with numerous publications, recordings, and international performances. She is an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music, and an alumna of New England Conservatory.
This program has been made possible by the generous support of the Hopkinton Public Library Foundation.
