Hopkinton Veterans’ Breakfast on Friday, July 12th

Dear Veterans:

Local veterans will be gathering for breakfast on 12 July 2019, at 0900 hours at the Senior Center. As always there will be great chow and a room-full of camaraderie.

Recently deceased comrades who passed-on during the previous month will be remembered, and those on “Sick Call” will be announced to allow opportunities for visits and/or notes and letters. Gestures that brighten the day of a fellow veteran are always appreciated.

A short discussion of history will bring to mind military events that previously occurred on July 12th; for example, in 1804, Alexander Hamilton, US Secretary of Treasury, died of gunshot wounds from a pistol duel with Vice President Aaron Burr.

A free beakfast and lunch will be awarded to the first person who correctly answers the monthly baseball quiz: Ted Williams played for the Red Sox in 19 seasons. How many times did Williams collect 200 hits in a season?

Hopkinton veterans with transportation difficulties should call the Senior Center on/before 10 July 2019, 508 497-9730. Please encourage other Hopkinton Vets to attend the breakfast.

American Legion Post 202 of Hopkinton will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and bless the meal.

See you Friday. Out.
