Jamie Dolan Cops PSAC Athlete Of Week Honors In Lacrosse

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – West Chester junior midfielder Jamie Dolan was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference athlete of the week in women’s lacrosse in the first weekly awards this spring.

Dolan helped West Chester start the season 2-0 with wins over Holy Family and Queens (N.C.). She scored 10 goals (5.0 pg), including the game-winners in both games, on just 12 total shots – 11 on goal. She also notched an assist for 11 total points (5.5 pg). Dolan also recorded four ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers.

Dolan scored eight goals against Queen’s on Sunday to lead West Chester to an 18-11 victory. Her eight goals were the most in a single game by a Golden Rams player since Jackie Baker notched nine goals in a win over Gannon on April 9, 2008. Dolan finished with eight points, registering the first eight-point game by a Rams player since Claire Grimwood did it against Gannon on April 30, 2010.

The junior middie posted a natural hat trick by scoring three unanswered goals over a four-minute span in the first half that gave West Chester the lead for good at 5-3.

In last Tuesday’s 16-4 win over Holy Family, Dolan scored a pair of goals and recorded an assist, all in the first half as the Golden Rams built a 10-0 halftime lead.

West Chester is back in action on Thursday at Lees-McRae, before returning home from spring break.
