The Executive Board of the Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement (MAWLE) is pleased to share that several members represented women in law enforcement at the Boston Red Sox Women’s Celebration at Fenway Park on Monday, Aug. 26. This was the second all-female Honor Guard in Red Sox history.
Women from several Massachusetts law enforcement agencies, including the Springfield Police Department, Salisbury Police Department, Essex County Sheriff’s Department, Hampden County Sheriff’s Office, Millbury Police Department, Massachusetts Trial Court and the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department represented MAWLE by participating in the presentation of colors.
The game included a Women’s Celebration during which the Red Sox welcomed women from across the Greater Boston area and recognized many barrier-breaking women throughout the game.
“We would like to extend our appreciation to the dedicated volunteers who proudly presented the colors at the Red Sox game for the annual Women’s Celebration,” said MAWLE President Marie Cleary. “Your participation represents not only a commitment to service but also highlights the strength and unity of women in law enforcement. We also would like to thank the Boston Red Sox for welcoming us."
