The Metrowest Symphony Orchestra returns to Hopkinton with a Family Concert on Sunday, April 30, at 2 pm in the HHS auditorium. Jordan Rich of WBZ talk radio will host, engaging viewers of all ages with informative, amusing commentary, and violinist Ella J. Kim, a Weston High senior, will be the soloist. An up & coming artist to watch, she has won top prizes in major competitions, and performed in Carnegie Hall and with the Boston Pops. The concert will include a range of popular classical pieces, from Aaron Copland’s Hoedown and Handel’s Water Music to highlights from film scores including E.T. and The Mission. Hopkinton Schools’ Head of Music Craig Hay will join conductor Max Hobart, leading Morning Mood from Peer Gynt by Edvard Grieg.

Before the concert begins, the doors will be open at 1pm for an Instrument Petting Zoo, featuring string instruments of all sizes – violins, violas, and cellos! The orchestra hopes that the hands-on experience and the engaging music and commentary will inspire a new generation of musicians.

Tickets are available at the door; adults, $25; seniors and veterans, $10; under 12, free.
