The National Association of Social Workers - Massachusetts Chapter (NASW-MA) Political Action for Candidate Election (PACE) committee has endorsed Muriel Kramer for Governor’s Council in District 2.
“We are confident that Muriel Kramer will bring her skills as a social worker to the Governor’s Council, making her an effective and equity-minded leader for social justice,” said Kim Hokanson, NASW-MA PACE Chair. “We are proud to endorse her for the Massachusetts Governor’s Council.”
NASW-MA PACE is delighted to support fellow social worker Muriel Kramer in her campaign for the Governor’s Council District 2. Muriel is running to elevate the voices of the most negatively impacted by the current legal system, often those that are disadvantaged socioeconomically, BIPOC, those with substance use disorder and mental illness. She is a proponent of restorative justice practices, treatment and diversion rather than incarceration, providing support and services to communities that have been historically underserved and over policed, and prioritizing diversity in appointments to the judiciary.
PACE is the nonpartisan political arm of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. As a political action committee, NASW-MA PACE endorses and financially contributes to candidates at the local and state levels who support the mission and values of the social work profession and whose policy priorities align with NASW-MA’s legislative agenda.
