The Hopkinton Fire Department will open their station to the public on October 6th for their Annual Open House. The event at Fire Headquarters will be from 11am to 2pm. Residents and children will have the opportunity to view demonstrations, learn about fire safety, and tour the station. Refreshments will be provided and Sparky the dog is expected to make an appearance.
The Open House provides an opportunity for firefighters to focus on the educational theme of Fire Prevention Week. which runs from October 6-12, 2013. This year’s theme is “Prevent Kitchen Fires”. Firefighter’s will be spreading the word that more fires start in the kitchen than in any other part of the home – and help teach people how to keep cooking fires from starting in the first place.
