The School Committee has several big tasks to undertake in 2011 and each requires a significant amount of communication with the community. We are beginning work on the 2012 operating budget; working with the Board of Selectmen to schedule a Special Town Meeting in March so the town can consider building a new elementary school building project on Fruit Street; and conducting a search for a new Superintendent of Schools. Our goal is that all members of the community have access to information regarding each of these topics so that they can participate as informed voters at Special Town Meeting, Annual Town Meeting and the ballot box.
The Hopkinton School Committee will begin holding office hours in January. Residents are invited to come and ask questions on any topic. Both day and evening office hours will be offered.

We will host a series of three public forums to keep residents updated on the Elementary School Building Project.

• Elementary School Building Project Community Forum - February 7, 9:30 -11:30 am, Senior Center [Snow Date February 11, 9:30 - 11:30]
• Elementary School Building Project Community Forum - March 7, 7 pm, HMS Auditorium [Snow Date March 14, 7 pm]
We will be holding two community forums to solicit input regarding the search for a new superintendent.
• Wednesday, 1/5/11 in the High School Cafeteria from 7:00 - 9:00 pm

• Monday, 1/10/11 at the Hopkinton Senior Center from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
