Hopkinton Town Hall and municipal offices (including the Library and the Senior Center) will be closed on July 3rd, 4th and 5th in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.
There will be no curbside trash and recycling pickup on Thursday July 4th. Curbside pickup will be delayed one day for the remainder of that week.
The Town of Hopkinton is seeking input from homeowners to inform the Town’s first climate action plan. Apply now to participate in a series of three one hour focus groups.
Approximately 10 participants will be selected based on social resilience evaluation criteria. The first focus group will be held in late June, with subsequent sessions occurring from June to October. Participants will be compensated for their time and insights.
The organizers of the July 4th Horribles Parade are pleased to announce that State Representative James Arena-DeRosa has been selected and has accepted the honor of being the Grand Marshall of this year’s “Hopkinton Horribles Parade”.
We are happy and encouraged that State Representative Arena-DeRosa has accepted our invitation, and we hope that all members of our town will come out and celebrate our nation’s birth and participate in the return of this fun family event!
Carol Ann (Porrazzo) Zani, of Uxbridge 80, died Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford, after battling a recent illness. She passed away peacefully with family by her side.
Carol Ann was born in Framingham on September 16, 1943 to Caroline (DeStefano)and Alfred Porrazzo. She lived nearly her entire life in Hopkinton, before moving to Uxbridge in 2007.

Let’s get ready to “Horrible”! July 4th, Independence Day, is just a few weeks away, are you ready for the return of the town’s “Horribles” Parade? The “Ancient and Horribles” parade is a New England tradition dating back to the 1800’s. Commonly referred to as the “Horribles” parade in Hopkinton, it is a parade originated to have some fun with national and local “political satire”, sort of like a floating “political roast”.
The theme for this year’s parade is “America the Beautiful”.
Please be advised that this current heat wave has put an enormous strain on the water system. Pumps are struggling to stay pace with demand and we have been unable to refill the storage tanks to safe levels. This poses a threat to both fire fighting capability and any water emergencies that may happen. Yesterday's power outages saw us lose several pumping hours, well stations had to be reset after generators came on.
