The MetroWest YMCA and the Hopkinton Center for the Arts are thrilled to announce the return of "The Haunt," an immersive and spine-tingling theatrical experience set deep in the woods of the YMCA’s Outdoor Center in Hopkinton. This year’s theme event, “The Haunt: A Wedding in Deadwoodville,” will take place over two weekends, October 18-20 and 25-27, and promises to deliver a uniquely spooky and enchanting journey into the world of the undead.
For a few days in October, Deadwoodville—an enigmatic town with a history dating back to 1715—emerges from the shadows to welcome visitors for a mesmerizing exploration of its macabre inhabitants and their supernatural lives. This season, the town is abuzz with preparations for a wedding like no other, where the realms of the living and the dead collide in a spellbinding celebration of forbidden love.
Guests will be guided through the haunted woods, encountering eerie residents and experiencing the strange and unsettling atmosphere of a wedding beyond the grave. The event features multiple group dance numbers, interactive elements, and a chance to explore the bizarre underworld of Deadwoodville.
Marie Laskowsky, one of the Creative Directors for "The Haunt," expressed her excitement about this year’s event: “We’ve worked tirelessly to create an experience that’s both captivating and chilling. This season’s wedding theme allows us to blend gothic romance with our signature eerie atmosphere, ensuring a truly unforgettable night for all who dare to join us.”
Elissa McGinty, also a Creative Director, added: “After last year's phenomenal success, we’re thrilled to expand on our interactive elements and provide even more opportunities for guests to immerse themselves in the story. From the moment you step into Deadwoodville, you’ll be part of a living nightmare—where every corner hides a new surprise.”
The Haunt’s rich blend of theatricality and interactivity promises a night of excitement and suspense. Tickets are limited and in high demand, with last year’s event selling out quickly. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this extraordinary experience!
This year, the event is proudly sponsored by Unibank, Under Pressure, Haven Beauty and Warren Conference Center and Inn, whose support has been instrumental in bringing this hauntingly delightful experience to life.
All profits from "The Haunt" will benefit the Hopkinton Center for the Arts and the MetroWest YMCA, supporting their ongoing programming and community initiatives.
