2025 Boston Marathon Kick Off Event: “Battle of the Badges 2025 Championship’
Firefighters and Police officers from sixteen towns will go head to head.
The winner will receive the trophy that will be fashioned after the Stanley Cup trophy. The winning team will display the trophy in their lobby throughout 2025. In 2026 they will have to defend it in order to retain it.
The excitement and competitiveness among these first responders has been incredibly fun to watch! They are all donating their time and their unions are paying all entry fees.
Ruth Pointer, from the Pointer Sisters, will be singing the National Anthem. Our sign language group will be accompanying her. Ruth’s son, a Hopkinton firefighter, will be on this year’s Marathon team. Many raffle items will be offered, including a signed Ray Bourque jersey. Concessions will be available in the cafeteria and it will be a great hangout place that is child friendly. View more below!
