HPLF was formed in 2011 with the mission to raise private funds for the expansion and state-of-the-art renovation of Hopkinton Public Library. After raising over $1 million for the project, the new Library opened in 2017 and the Foundation has continued to support the Library by funding resources, technology, educational and special projects, and long term improvements to the Library. In the last two years, HPLF has provided funding for the “Library of Things,” the town-wide reading program One Book One Hopkinton, the Reading Marathon, an entire year of Music and Movement concerts for little ones, and a series of Gaming events for teens and tweens on early release days. This coming year, the Foundation is also funding vacation week Artist Studios for elementary age children and a new series of Coffee House events at the Library featuring a range of cultural and artistic performances that kicked off in April. In the last two years, HPLF has contributed more than $30,000 to the Library to enhance its programs and collections available to all members of the community.
