Hopkinton Senior Services needs your help with our Needs Assessment Survey

The Town of Hopkinton has embarked on a Needs Assessment to identify current and long-term needs of residents aged 55 and over in Hopkinton. In an effort to better serve Hopkinton’s growing demographic, we’ve teamed up with the Gerontology Institute at the University of Massachusetts Boston to conduct the assessment and analyze the results.

The Town of Hopkinton seeks volunteers to form a Cultural District for the Town of Hopkinton. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated group of individuals who will apply for a Cultural District Application through Mass Cultural Council and manage the District once established.

Hopkinton Fire Reminds Residents to Change Their Clocks, Check Their Alarms as Daylight Saving Time Ends

Interim Chief Gary Daugherty and the Hopkinton Fire Department would like to remind residents to check their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms when setting their clocks back for Daylight Saving Time this weekend.

Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 a.m., and clocks will move back one hour at that time.

Health Department Announces Moderna 2023-2024 Formula Doses for Ages 12-18, November 9th, 3-5PM, Town Hall

Updated Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 Vaccines, designed to target the current circulating form of COVID-19, is now approved and universally recommended for everyone ages 6 months and older.

People who do not have health insurance or have a health plan that does not cover the cost of vaccination, can get a free vaccine from the Hopkinton Health Department. All Children, even those privately insured are eligible for the Vaccines for Children program and may receive the vaccine for free from the Hopkinton Health Department.

Hopkinton Permanent Building Committee to Hold Public Forum to Discuss Updated Facility Plans

The Hopkinton Permanent Building Committee, in partnership with Abacus Architects & Planners, has updated its ongoing review of facility plans based upon public input received during a public forum in May, and the Committee is pleased to announce that a second Public Forum has been scheduled to review the facility plan updates and seek additional input before final recommendations are presented to the Hopkinton Select Board.

Librarians to Call For Fairness in Ebook Pricing in Upcoming Hearing

Librarians from across Massachusetts will seek more affordability and flexibility in licenses for digital content at a hearing for legislation to improve library access to ebooks and digital audiobooks.

Filed by Rep. Ruth B. Balser (D-Newton), an Act Empowering Library Access to Electronic Books and Digital Audiobooks will support libraries in fulfilling their mission of providing broad and equitable access to information for all by ensuring that licensing and contractual agreements between libraries and publishers contain equitable terms.
