The November 4th Planning Board meeting was a disaster. They failed to make a recommendation to the Special Town Meeting (STM) concerning the MBTA Community Zoning.

Instead, they are submitting two flawed options for consideration by the STM. If the Planning Board can not get a majority of their own members to support an option, how should they expect a majority of Town Meeting voters to support it? Both options would harm the Town and increase your taxes. The only logical vote is to take no action.

I am writing to ask for your support for Tamisha Civil for Governor’s Council in this year’s election. As many of you know Tamisha and I were competitors in the primary, and it was my privilege to get to know Tamisha in that process; she is smart, dedicated, and hardworking. We will be so fortunate to have her serving on the Governor’s Council for a more progressive future.

I am writing with passionate support of Peter Mimmo for the Hopkinton Select Board. Peter has unique expertise in matters specifically challenging to our community at this moment.

His thoughtful and measured approach to passionate and potentially divisive questions has been inspiring - he is able to both acknowledge firmly held beliefs of our town and focus on the established legal processes that support solutions focused steps while adhering to legal principles that guide our commonwealth.

I am writing this letter to wholeheartedly endorse Peter Mimmo for the position of Select Board member in our community. With his dedication, integrity, and leadership qualities, I am confident in his ability to serve our community with distinction.

He has devoted his career to public service as a civil litigation attorney representing agencies in the Massachusetts state government that include health services and civil rights issues.

I write in support of Kyla McSweeney for Select Board.

Kyla not only has the public policy background needed to serve as a Select Board member, she also has the character to excel in this role. As a Girl Scout leader over the past 6 years, Kyla has exemplified what it means to be a Girl Scout - to be honest and fair, considerate and caring, and responsible for what she says and does.

This year’s select board election has four excellent candidates for Hopkinton residents to choose from.

All with talents, experiences, and energy our town will benefit from. Peter Mimmo stands out as a candidate with the legal and social negotiating skills our town needs in these divisive times. He brings experience, hope, and strength in his spirited message of optimism. I strongly endorse Peter Mimmo‘s candidacy and know this town will benefit greatly from his professional background and dedicated heart to make Hopkinton live up to its full potential.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Kyla McSweeney for sometime, and pleasantly witnessed her consistent dedication to our community and deep commitment to our town. A successful marathoner, Kyla has demonstrated unwavering dedication in many town activities and initiatives, from Hopkinton Running Club to Hopkinton Cemetery Commission.

I am happy to endorse Peter Mimmo for the Select Board, a candidate who reflects unique experience and qualities we need. Peter’s understanding of our town’s critical issues, his professional legal experience and expertise and deep-rooted commitment to public service makes him the ideal candidate and the right choice for Hopkinton for this critical time.

Like many residents of Hopkinton, we moved to this town with our four kids for the excellent schools. Since 2011, Hopkinton has been our home, and we enjoy the wonderful community and opportunities the town provides.
