Trash & Recycling Postponed for Wednesday
Trash & Recycling collection in the Town of Hopkinton is on the REGULAR SCHEDULE for Tuesday, February 1st, and has been POSTPONED for Wednesday, February 2nd due to the expected snow storms.
All trash and recycling collections beginning with Wednesday will be delayed by one day.
If your regular pick up day is Wednesday, it will be Thursday.
Please have all materials at the curb by 9:00 AM.
If your regular pick up day is Thursday, it will now be Friday.
Please have all materials at the curb by 7:00 AM.

Due to the impending snowstorm, all schools will follow an Early Dismissal schedule.
High School and Middle School -- Released at 10:45AM
Elmwood School - Released at 11:25AM
Hopkins School - Released at 12:05PM
AM K, Full-Day K and Grade 1 - Released at 12:05PM - No afternoon K
Hopkinton Senior Center will close at 12 noon --NO LUNCH
Representative Dykema Named to Four Committees
Representative Carolyn Dykema (D-Holliston) is proud to announce that she will serve on four legislative committees for the upcoming two-year session. Rep. Dykema will join, for the first time, the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing and the Joint Committee on Public Health. She will also continue serving on the Joint Committee on the Environment, Natural Resources & Agriculture and the Joint Committee on Veterans & Federal Affairs.

Middle School Hockey Team Victorious
The Hopkinton hockey Jr. Hillers 2 team was victorious over Stoughton 5-2 on Friday night in their league game in Foxboro.
The Hillers were lead by Brendan O'Leary who had 2 goals and an assist. Other goal scorers were, Nick Pomeroy with a goal and assists, Jack Vaccarri, Nick Carrazza, and Brandon Carty chipped in with 2 assists. Goaltenders Tim McGrath and Zac Rodgers played great in net, with Tim not allowing a goal for his second straight game.
Wood Street Garage Building Collapses
Highway Mike Mansir reports that the building at the Highway Department Garage on Wood Street, known as the "pole barn", collapsed today under the weight of the snow.
"It was close to collapse when the building inspector gave the order to pull the rest down." said Mansir. " The fire department used a the rescue truck with a winch to finish the job."
New DPW Director to Start on February 14th
Hopkinton has a new Director of Public Works. Selectmen confirmed the appointment of John Westerling at their January 25th meeting. Westerling will start work in Hopkinton on Monday, February 14th.
Before the vote of the board, Town Manager Norman Khumalo described Westerling as a “champion of civic benefit and a tireless advocate of public works.”
“He brings to this very challenging position a clarity of thinking and a very dedicated commitment to good customer service,” said Khumalo.
