Philip J. Paradis, 49

Philip J. Paradis, 49, died unexpectedly at home on October 29, 2010. He was the father of Daniel Paradis of Sutton. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Alverie and Rita (Heaton) Paradis.

Philip was a 1983 graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He was employed by St. Cobain Company of Worcester for 20 years. He was an avid fishermen, hunter and golfer and most of all enjoyed spending time with family.

DPW Finishes Drainage Repair Work

The Department of Public Works (DPW) is pleased to announce completion of approximately $31,000 in drainage repair work throughout the Town. This work was funded through FEMA reimbursements associated with the March 2010 storms. Culvert replacement work took place on North Mill Street, Winter Street, Fourth Road and Berry Acres. Anyone with any questions on this project is encouraged to contact the Hopkinton DPW at (508) 497-9768.

I want to commend Brendan O’Regan and the Highway Department team for a job well done.

Noreen M. Deletti, 40

Noreen M. Deletti, 40, of Norwood died unexpectedly October 24, 2010. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of Albert E. Deletti and his partner Karyn McKenzie of Hopkinton and Diane L. Raftery and her partner John Pasciuti of Framingham. She was the fiance of Anthony Scarcella of Dedham.

ESL’s Open Mic to Feature Janet Feld on Nov. 6

Folk singer and songwriter Janet Feld will be the featured artist at ESL’s Open Mic Night on Saturday, November 6 with host Barbara Kessler. Feld has been performing her original songs on the coffeehouse circuit since 1986 and teaching music to people of all ages since 1988. Feld is returning to ESL’s Open Mic after sharing some of her heartfelt and humorous songs there last spring.

Absentee Ballots Due by Nov. 1

Absentee ballots are now available at the Town Clerk's office and must be returned to the Clerk's office by noon on Monday, November 1.

Residents wishing to vote by absentee ballot in the upcoming State Election on November 2, can contact the Town Clerk's office for more information at 508-497-9710 or www.hopkinton.org

Office hours are M,W,TH, F from 8am to 4pm.
Tuesdays from 8am to 7pm.

14th Annual Pumpkin Prom a Success

The 14th annual Pumpkin Prom, a father and daughter dance sponsored by the Hopkinton Lions Club and the Hopkinton High School Leos Club, took place last night at thte Middle School gyn. Hopkinton girls in kindergarten through fifth grade and their dads enjoyed a night of music, dancing and refreshments.

All proceeds from the dancce will be donated to local organizations and charities and Massachusetts Lions Eye Research.
