Alan B. King, 83, a Holliston resident of 45 years, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Born and raised in Adams, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Pauline (Voyer) and Kenneth King. He was the husband of 59 years to Sandra (Jillson) King.

Registration for the 15th Annual Paws & Claws 5k presented by VCA Animal Hospitals is officially open! This year’s event takes place on Sunday, October 20th at the beautiful Hopkinton State Park. Baypath is thrilled that the community will be able to come together again for this major event. The Baypath Paws & Claws 5K is one of Baypath’s largest events each year and is responsible for helping the organization meet their mission of caring for over 1000 cats and dogs each year. Be one of the first 300 registrants and receive a free t-shirt with your registration!

Hopkinton Hillers sports teams go 5 for 5 on Wednesday September 25!

Wednesday, September 25th was quite an amazing day and historic day for Hopkinton Hillers Fall sports as all five Hiller teams competing during the day captured wins! Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Field Hockey, Girls Volleyball and Golf all added a win to their 2024-25 standings.

Watch Now: Select Board discusses MBTA Communities Bylaw

The Select Board received an update from about the progress of the proposal to be put forward at Town Meeting for the town of Hopkinton to comply with the state's MBTA communities law at their September 17th meeting.

This new law requires; "that an MBTA community shall have at least one zoning district of reasonable size in which multi-family housing is permitted as of right and meets other criteria set forth in the statute".

James Arond-Thomas, M.D., 80

James Arond-Thomas, M.D., of Hopkinton, MA, a distinguished physician-researcher and dedicated medical practitioner, passed away on September 10, 2024, at age 80. Born in Caroline County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Jeannette (Anderson) and Otto M. Thomas.

James held a Doctorate in Medicine and a Master’s in Pharmacology, underscoring his deep commitment to advancing medical knowledge and patient care. As a medical student at OSU, he won the Borden Award for outstanding research.
