Rose Crettien, 74

Rose Crettien, 74, of Hopkinton MA, died on August 25th at 1:14 AM, surrounded by her loving family after a decade-long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born October 6th,1949 in Winthrop, MA. She was the daughter of the late Frances Kanegis and Irving Steinberg. She is survived by her devoted husband, Philippe Crettien of 40 years, her daughter, Chloe Crettien of Portland, ME, and her son, Miles Crettien, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Crettien, and grandson, Elijah Crettien of Kingston, NY.

Hopkinton Police and Fire Departments Respond to Whitehall Reservoir for Boater in Distress

Police Chief Joseph Bennett and Fire Chief Gary Daugherty report that the Hopkinton Police and Fire Departments responded Thursday to Whitehall Reservoir for a boater in distress.

On Thursday, Aug. 22, at approximately 4:42 p.m., the Hopkinton Police and Fire Departments were called to the Whitehall Reservoir at 300 Wood St., for a report of a boater in distress.

Another boater noticed the individual in distress, called 911, and stayed on the telephone with dispatchers while emergency crews responded.

Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement Holds MAWLE and Me Summer Camp to Introduce Young Women to Law Enforcement Career Paths

The Executive Board of the Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement (MAWLE) is pleased to share the success of this year’s MAWLE & Me Summer Camp.

MAWLE hosted the 2024 camp from Aug. 12-16 at the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association Hall for 25 middle school-aged girls from the Boston area. This is the fifth time the camp has been held.

Robert M. Parent, 90

Robert M. Parent, 90, died August 18, 2024 at home in Holliston after a period of declining health. He was the loving husband of Cecilia (Malinowski) Parent, to whom he was married for 67 years. Born in Fort Benning, GA, he was the son of the late Louis and Carmen (Murray) Parent.
